Lots of celebrities are often seen at charity poker events and other casino games fundraisers, but there are some actors who might be skilled enough to give up their day job and switch to full time gambling instead.

George Clooney is best known for his many movies including Ocean’s 11 and Ocean’s 12, where gambling was at the centre of the plot, but he doesn’t just see gambling as a bit of fun for the weekend. He is also a co-owner of Las Ramblas, a casino hotel in Vegas. George has also been rumoured to buy lots of lottery tickets, including those that are run in Europe. He’ll probably be keen to learn all about the Spanish Christmas lottery, which has only recently been opened up to players outside of Spanish borders.

Friends’ actor Matthew Perry is also an avid gambler. His favourite game is poker and he often plays in tournaments as well as charity events. He took part in the Celebrity Poker Showdown TV Show. Although he does go to Vegas to play casino, Perry is also known to be a fan of online gambling.

Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are friends who work together, acting and directing, but also like to play poker together too. They’ve both made films about gambling. Matt Damon was in Rounders with Ed Norton, where the game in focus was underground poker. The two stars were given poker lessons by pro player Johnny Chan during filming. Affleck, meanwhile, starred in Runner Runner this year with Justin Timberlake. In Runner Runner, Affleck plays the part of an online gaming site boss caught up in shady dealings in Costa Rica while Timberlake plays the role of a Princeton student who pays for his education through online gaming.

Tobey Maguire is another actor who loves to play poker. The Spiderman star was actually defeated by Ben Affleck when they were both playing in the California State Poker Champs back in 2004, but he still loves the game. Apparently he often holds games at his home in Hollywood and his guest list includes other celebs such as Robert Downey Jr, Dennis Hopper and Matthew Perry.

So, it would come as no surprise if any of these five decided to quit the acting game and concentrate on their poker strategy instead!
